The fine folks at Falling Knife Brewing helped us immensely through our fire rebuild, donating an entire walk-in cooler to us, and we’ve been counting down the days until we could make beer together. Longest Way Home, Wood Aged Dark Lager is now available. Inspired by extensive time huddled around campfires in the dead of winter, this beer was designed to awaken your senses.
Using a complex bill of Vienna, Munich, and smoked malts, along with our tried and true Czech Saaz hop, and finally cold fermented on maple wood. This beer exemplifies what Portage is always trying to do, brew products that are equally complex and crushable. Expect notes of warm bread, subtle smoke, and wood tannins.
